A finely crushed quartz, Summerstone Fines creates elegant, compacted surfaces for pathways and driveways. With a soft, seashell-like appearance, it evokes the texture of coastal sand while remaining firm and comfortable underfoot, ideal for relaxed, natural landscape settings.
For optimal performance, install to a depth of approximately 50mm for foot traffic and 100mm for light vehicle use, over a properly compacted sub-base such as crushed limestone or blue metal roadbase. The fines works best when installed on a flat surface as sloped areas can lead to a higher risk of wind and water erosion.
Stabilisation with Soilbond or cement can be considered to improve compaction and reduce erosion, depending on the application.
Summerstone Fines presents as a deeper beige tone when loose/wet, gradually lightening to a soft, seashell white once compacted and dried. This natural colour transition is a defining characteristic of the material.
Once installed, it forms a firm, stable surface underfoot. While not a sealed finish, it retains a fine, slightly loose texture, contributing to its organic, understated aesthetic.
