South West River Stone is a popular choice for Perth gardens, available in a range of sizes to suit everything from pathways and pots to water features and dry creek beds. These smooth, rounded stones feature natural tones of cool greys, warm pinks and soft creams, making them a versatile addition to any landscape.
The smaller 10–20mm size is ideal for pathways, between pavers, pots and planters, while the 20–40mm stones are perfect for ground cover, water features and dry creek beds. Larger sizes create striking feature rocks and are well suited to gabion baskets.

We suggest installing Geofabric underneath to stop the stones from mixing in with the existing sand, and to help control weeds.

Note: These naturally rounded river stones were formed over 65 million years ago within an ancient glacial deposit in Western Australia’s Blackwood region. Every shipment arrives in 1-tonne bulk bags, and because the stone is entirely natural, each bag contains a unique mix of shapes, colours and densities.
Most stones are hard, smooth and long-lasting. Occasionally, naturally porous stones are present which may gradually soften, break apart or weather into river sand when permanently submerged in water. This natural variation is part of the character and authenticity of genuine glacial river stone.
Calculating an accurate amount of product required for your job is very important. There is nothing worse than receiving a delivery to find you’re short on product.
Of course sometimes your job area may not be square or rectangular, it may be winding and change widths at various times which can make correct measurement difficult.
As a general rule only, 20% extra needs to be ordered to factor in the compaction of the product. Please call us if you have questions on this.
